Virtual Reality Hardware Systems Engineering Contract: 30 hours/week, opportunity for full time The Senior Hardware Engineer is a technical leadership role responsible for driving innovation and overseeing the entire new product development cycle, from concept to scale, for VR devices. Working directly with the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Software Engineer, this individual collaborator will oversee the implementation and creation of a VR headset, haptic suit, tactile gloves, scent mask, and omni-versal treadmill. They must have a proven track record of successfully leading product development, demonstrating technical depth, and leadership ability. English communication skills are a must. Responsibilities: ● Oversee and lead our team of hardware engineers through all phases of engineering design, development, and validation to bring complex VR products to mass production ● Establish strategic relationships with factories and product peers in engineering, research, business, design, and user research teams to define product requirements and architecture ● Provide technical guidance to make crucial hardware product decisions, enabling the realization of cutting-edge VR devices ● Collaborate effectively across all levels of management and individual contributors both internally and externally ● Drive business results, optimize overall business objectives, and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation Minimum Qualifications: ● Fluent in both English and Mandarin ● Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or relevant industry experience ● 7-10 years of experience in hardware product development, with an experience in track record of successfully shipping products to market ● Experience with multiple full life-cycle product launches ● Proven technical expertise in several of the following hardware disciplines, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, display, optics, and systems engineering ● Proven leadership skills, demonstrating the experience to lead cross-functional hardware and technology teams throughout the entire product development cycle ● Effective communication skills, to articulate complex technical concepts and drive alignment on product requirements and architecture
